What’s New for 2014

whats new photoDrive, Chip, and Putt Local Qualifying coming to town.
Remember that BIG announcement last April the Masters Tournament Foundation had for the Drive, Chip, & Putt Championship?! We have 3 juniors from TN going to Augusta National the Sunday before the Masters – Ashley Gilliam from Manchester, Rheagan Hall from Charleston, and Riley Rennell from Columbia. Go girls! Who will represent TN at the 2015 Masters DC&P Championship? Kids ages 7-15 will have a chance to qualify in CHATTANOOGA this summer. The First Tee of Chattanooga Player Development Complex will host one of four local qualifying sites taking place in TN. Keep checking back for more details.

Play Golf in the Olympics, sorta.
Yes golf is coming to the 2016 summer Olympics and although we may not be able to sneak on to the Rio de Janeiro (host of the 2016 games) course how about playing on a golf course a little closer to home with ties. This summer the TGA Junior Tour will add Sewannee Golf Club to its summer tour schedule. The Sewannee course re-opened in 2013 after a refresher from world renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse who designed the course that will be played in the 2016 Summer Olympics. You know it’s a big deal to be in Golfweek (click for article), right?
